Chapter Eight
Ash wrapped his arms around her as she laid her head on his chest. Sex had never been this good, and he wondered what was going to happen when they got home. Taking a deep breath, he blew it out.
“What was that for?” she asked him.
“I guess I’m wondering what happens when we go home.”
“You mean us?”
“Yes, well, seeing each other…this.” He tightened his arms around her.
“I still want to see you but—”
“But what?” Ash moved away to gaze down at her.
“Well, I’d like to keep it to ourselves for a while.”
“Why?”
“Ash, I’m newly divorced, and I don’t need my parents or anyone else wondering about us.”
“I see,” he murmured, although he didn’t really.
Cassidy rolled over on top of him. “Could we just do it my way for a while? Please?”
Ash wrapped his arms around her. He wasn’t happy about being her secret but perhaps for a short while—till she was ready for more. “All right.”
Her smile was enough to make him happy that he’d agreed. She was so beautiful, and he knew he was close to falling hard for her. Hell, to be honest, he’d been close since the first day he saw her.
“I’ll have to get up early to get back to my room.”
“Why?”
“I need to shower, Ash.”
“There’s a shower here, in case you’ve forgotten.” He leaned up and kissed her neck then grinned when she shivered.
“Stop. I have to get clean clothes too. I’ll set my alarm on my phone for seven, go back to my room, and meet you in the lobby at nine as we agreed.”
Ash sighed. “Fine. I don’t like it, but I’ll do it.”
Cassidy laughed and rolled off him then snuggled against him. Yeah, he could get used to this but why would she want to keep it a secret? She was twenty-nine years old, and she didn’t need to hide things from her parents. Ash didn’t understand, but if it meant keeping her in his life, he’d do whatever she wanted—for now.
He could feel sleep taking over as he pulled her closer and closed his eyes. Oh yeah, he could get used to this.

Cassie woke before the alarm went off. She sat up, picked up her phone to check the time and turn the alarm off. Ash rolled away from her. Glancing over her shoulder, she smiled looking at him. He lay sprawled out on his stomach with the pillow over his head. The sheet was across the back of his waist covering the lower half of him. Not a sound came from him. She snorted then covered her mouth so she wouldn’t wake him when she thought about waking up last night and wondering why she didn’t hear him snoring. For a few seconds, she thought she’d done what he’d accused her of, and killed him. Laughter bubbled out.
“It’s too damn early to be finding anything funny, sweetheart,” he said, his voice muffled from under the pillow.
Cassie burst out laughing. “I’ll tell you about it later. I have to go. I’ll see you in the lobby.
